For hundreds of families, the Ashram itself has become a source of livelihood. For instance, affiliated schools, hospitals etc. give direct employment.

The chief of Dera Sacha Sauda, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji strongly believes to arm youth with required skill set so that they are able to support themselves as well as the society. Here are few initiatives by DSS to empower youth.

Movies – An innovative tool to empower youth

The Dera chief, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan has made many motivational movies to inspire youth against drugs, intoxicants and alcohol consumption.

In the movie “Jattu Engineer”, Guruji demonstrated the concept of transformation of an underdeveloped village struck by poverty, unemployment, drug menace and unhygienic living conditions into a beautiful, self dependent village with the help of 5 young students.

In another movie, “MSG- The Messenger of God”, Guruji  portrayed the character of a spiritual leader who accepted the challenge of eradicating social evils like drugs and gender-related issues that have been prevailing in the society.

Transforming youth through engagement in sports

By motivating youth towards sports, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji has guided many youngsters, including girls and boys, as ‘Papa Coach’ to bring laurels for the country at national and international levels. For instance, many girl students from Shah Satnam Ji group of Institutions have bagged hundreds of medals in shooting, Yoga, Roller skating.

Furthermore, with an aim to prepare international level players to fetch maximum number of medals for India in the Olympic Games,  Guruji has established ‘MSG Bhartiya Khel Gaon’ (MSG Indian Sports Village) equipped with state-of-the-art sports facilities. This sports village is unique of its kind and spread over 23 acres with international level stadiums to accommodate more than two dozen games.

Tribal Re-integration

Due to illiteracy, many tribal people are living miserable life and completely indulged in the world of delusion, poverty and disease. Apart from this, addiction to liquor, lack of hygiene and an anomalous social code are the other glaring problems.

For the upliftment of tribal society and to bring them in mainstream society, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Ji has taken an initiative to empower tribal people with the skills that could help them to become self dependent. For instance, Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers  conducted various hygiene and sanitation projects to teach tribal people learn to bathe, observe cleanliness and follow a dress code.

In fact, vocational rehabilitation training sessions were conducted to train women in the art of weaving, sewing etc. The men were provided training of skills related to dry agriculture and water management. The children were encouraged and inspired to attend schools.

Inspiring youth for Humanitarianism

As a social reformer, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Ji Insan strongly believes that Youth should come forward for humanitarianism and welfare of society. In addition to acquiring skills for livelihood, youth should also be encouraged to gain welfare skills. So, with the pious guidance of Guruji, there are various welfare works where youth has been found to be profoundly active like

Blood donation – Lakhs of blood units donated by DSS volunteers till date where most of the donors are youngsters. In fact, many have filled pledge forms to donate blood every 3 months. Many world records are set by volunteers in blood donation

Few lines by Guruji for blood donation

Donate blood so that no life is lost due to its paucity. It fills the donor with vitality. Blood donation never brings any weakness rather it is a remedy for many diseases in itself. There is no bigger service & charity than donating blood. Go for this cause &  be a Mankind’s savior.”

Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan

Tree plantation – Another welfare work, Tree plantation campaigns started by Guruji witnessed rise in participation by youth. Not only in India, but the enthusiasm is found to be high in DSS young volunteers from Melbourne, Canada, New Zealand, Winnipeg, London also.

Anti Corruption – Through this initiative, Guruji has inspired many officials at higher positions to fill the Anti Corruption forms. Moreover, they pledge to never take bribe or give bribe. The aim is to end corruption from society. Undoubtedly, again the lead role has to be played by the Youth in the society.

Meditation

To acquire a good skill set, it is of utmost importance that one should be focused, self confident and full of positivity. Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji preaches that there is no worldly tonic that can strengthen your will power and boost self confidence except Meditation. The one who meditates on God’s words regularly can fight inner vices and negativities better. So, practice meditation and open the door to infinite possibilities and achieve the goals of your life.

Conclusion
